Swainwood is an idyllic neighborhood located in the heart of Glenview, Illinois.
Created in the early 1940’s, the neighborhood features many unique family homes and continues to be one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the North Shore Chicagoland area.
As featured by the Glenview Historical Society, the original brochures about Swainwood describe the careful planning and development of a neighborhood designed to leverage its unique roots as a former landscape nursery.
The design included winding roads, electric wires buried underground, no sidewalks, no two homes alike, and, of course, beautiful trees.
